Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great experience with Whale Roofing from start to finish. David came out to look at our home, went over the quote with us, and was quick to answer every question. He also helped us choose our tile. Everything went smoothly once planning got underway, including permits and the HOA approval, and the team kept us updated the whole time.
The tear-off crew worked fast and left things tidy. Every crew cleaned up after themselves and hauled away debris, so our yard stayed clean. Whenever we had a question, Jacob and Derek were available and professional.
Roof was completed beautifully and inspections and permits completed and closed.
We got pictures of the whole process from start to finish.
We're thrilled with our new roof! Thank you Whale Roofing Team!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. From start to finish, the entire team at Whale was exceptional. We had gotten quotes from several other roofing companies, but Whale's initial communication, presentation, and proposal stood out among the competition. Their pricing was fair and competitive, and they not only met expectations but exceeded them. Their workmanship was efficient, meticulous, and professional. We were kept informed every step of the way and really cannot believe how easy it all ended up being. We love our new roof and solar fan! Would highly recommend over and over again.

I would highly recommend Whale’s Roofing for anyone looking for Quality Roofing Repaired Services.

Thanks to Frank, the Representative who came out to Assess the repairs and ensure a smooth process from start to finish. Thanks for the photos.

Thank you.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We hired Whale Roofing to repair a leak in our tile roof in Delray Beach, and I can't recommend them enough. After collecting quotes from several companies in the area, Whale stood out from the very first visit: they were the only company that actually got into the attic to inspect the problem from the inside, instead of just looking at the roof from above.

That thoroughness showed in everything they did. They found the real cause of the leak — a failed gooseneck vent — explained every detail before quoting, and gave us the most reasonable price we received, by a good margin. And the price they quoted is the price we paid: no extras, no surprises, no upsell, even though the job included replacing rotted wood.

Afterwards, Jacob, their VP, personally walked me through every item they had done. Honest diagnosis, fair price, quality work, and a company that stands behind every word: if you have a roof leak in South Florida, make sure Whale is one of the companies you call.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Whale Roofing does a great job. We have townhomes and villas in our community. All concrete tile roofs. Their cleanliness and professionalism is top notch. I will recommend them to all of my neighbors. The communication from Jacob and the rest of the team was impressive! The roof looks great!

Tile Roof Replacement FAQs

How long does a tile roof last?

A well-installed concrete or clay tile roof typically lasts 50 years or more, with some clay tile systems exceeding 75-100 years when properly maintained. The tiles themselves are extremely durable, and it’s often the underlayment beneath them that wears out first — usually around the 20-30 year mark. Replacing the underlayment while reusing sound tiles is sometimes an option, which we’ll assess during your inspection.

What is the best tile roof for South Florida?

Concrete tile is generally the top choice for South Florida homeowners due to its excellent wind resistance, wide range of colors and profiles, and lower cost compared to clay. It’s also the most common tile roofing material in the region, so replacement parts and matching are straightforward. Clay tile offers superior color retention and a more premium aesthetic, but typically comes at a higher price point. We’ll help you weigh durability, appearance, and budget during your free inspection.

Are tile roofs good at withstanding hurricanes?

Yes, when properly installed. Concrete and clay tile roofs installed with modern fastening systems and underlayment are engineered to meet Florida’s strict High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) building codes, and many systems are rated to withstand winds of 150+ mph. Proper installation is critical — improperly fastened tiles are one of the most common causes of storm damage, which is why professional, code-compliant installation matters as much as the tile material itself.

Will a new tile roof reduce my energy bills?

Yes. Tile roofing naturally creates an air gap between the tile and the roof deck, which improves ventilation and reduces heat transfer into your attic compared to materials that sit flush against the deck, like asphalt shingles. Lighter-colored tiles also reflect more solar heat. Together, this can meaningfully reduce the load on your air conditioning system, especially during South Florida’s hottest months.

How much does tile roof replacement cost?

Tile roof replacement costs depend on the size and pitch of your roof, whether you choose concrete or clay tile, the tile profile, and the condition of your existing roof deck. Tile typically costs more upfront than asphalt shingles, but its 50+ year lifespan and minimal maintenance needs often make it a better long-term value. We provide detailed, transparent estimates during your free inspection so you know exactly what to expect.
